15 GREAT REASONS FOR AN INTIMATE WEDDING OR ELOPEMENT

Why choose a weekday wedding or elopement?

1. Going beyond traditions and conventions-

In my experience weekday weddings tend to take out a lot of formality and are more intimate and casual. They are centred around the best interest of the couples and flow with amazing ease and fun. More and more couples are choosing to part away with the traditional wedding and are smitten by the magic of elopement. There is also a shift in the seating arrangements with couples increasingly choosing canapé style casual receptions, the speeches are much shorter and only made by 2-3 individuals, bridal dance is turning more casual with couples inviting all their small number of guests straight away to the dance floor. All focus is towards celebrations and making the most of the day without overly getting involved in formalities.

2. Great Vendor availability and discounted offers-

Get quotes for both weekends and weekdays from your dream team of vendors and you would be able to clearly see the kind of availability and difference in savings you could make.

3. Good chance of securing your dream venue.

Wedding venues traditionally are booked out for weekends months in advance however a weekday arrangement can both be lighter on the pocket and quite easily available. Here is a list of some unique Melbourne venues to explore:

4. Guests unlikely to be double booked-

You have a good chance of having most of your guest list be ticked off with ease.

5. Spend on things you like and enjoy ease of planning-

From the discounts and savings made by choosing to elope or plan a small weekday wedding you could have a longer honey moon, indulge in speciality food and wines on the day, put that savings towards your house deposit. A variety of elopement venues offer all services under one roof where they get you in touch with onsite vendors and suppliers that take care of every little detail. You just need to rock up on the day and accomodation, ceremony, reception, celebrant, photography, make-up, flowers, and so much more is already arranged for you, this makes wedding planning an absolute breeze and you are able to put all your energy and time in celebrating and being with loved ones. 6. Greater choice -

Ability to choose a day out of five days instead of just two.

7. Make it a long weekend-

You could choose a location where the small number of guests could all stay together and you could continue partying over the next couple of days. If its summer time then you could plan an afternoon drink or bbq next day.

8. How about a lunch time wedding?

This would make your day even more casual and you could go for an after party drink or just have the evening to yourselves at a luxury Airbnb to relax and unwind.

9. An elopement or small weekday wedding also means a small guest list-

Which also means the ability to give more attention to your guests and family members on the day. In a big wedding couples are often divided as to where to place their attention and time and in the process they are not truly able to be present or thoroughly immerse in the celebrations, with an elopement and small wedding that is no longer an issue. Each guest is thoughtfully invited and there is ample time to share memories and the beautiful journey.

 10. With so many weddings indefinitely postponed or cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-

There is most likely to be a rise in weekday weddings and elopements as they offer an alternate solution and a wide array of positives and uplifting experiences.

11. Savings for guests-

If your guests are travelling from the country or interstate they would be saving too on accomodation and transportation and would be avoiding the peak time rush and feel quite relaxed and laidback, also there would be greater availability and pool of choice for them to pick from.

13. Go by your gut feeling, intuition and research-

Do not let colleagues or friends influence your decision just cause they think its best to do things the traditional way and thus wait for the right timing or opportunity, life is lived in the here and now.

14. If its a Monday wedding-

Then you could have a pre-wedding drink the day before with close friends and family members and get in the mood of celebration prior to the wedding. Similarly a Thursday or Friday wedding can lead to a brunch next day and a beautiful short vacation over the weekend

15. Amazing photo opportunities -

With less crowds and interruptions, popular locations open up due to the absence of weekend crowds and wedding rush. Couple can have entire indoor spaces for them selves and also experience quiet and peaceful sunsets, ocean views or nature walks without bumping into other wedding couples and parties. Elopements to nature reserves, parks and scenic beaches also benefit from less crowds on week days and give a special feeling to the couples to truly relax and be themselves in an intimate surrounding
